Land Acknowledgement

I live, work, and enjoy the homelands of the p’squosa (Wenatchi) Tribe. The p’squosa have stewarded these lands along the Wenatchee river since time immemorial. Broken treaties and agreements took away the promise of ancestral lands and more.

I continue to learn about the p’squosa and other Indigenous and First Nation peoples: their histories, and their continued efforts to protect and restore their ancestral lands, traditions, foodways, and communities.

I support Indigenous businesses and Indigenous-lead causes including local landback efforts, as well as organizations that align with my values of healing, connection, and community. I strive to be grounded in an “ethic of love” (bell hooks, All About Love). I will get things wrong, and keep trying.

Thanks to Mary Big Bull-Lewis, and her uncle, Randy Lewis for their advocacy and education about the p’squosa, their history, and their future.
