weird snacks

Here's a recent snack that my 3 1/2 year-old enjoyed. Cocktail onions,  an oatmeal cookie and milk.

(Ideally offer a fat, carb and protein with every meal or snack.) Being creative about offerings can help break the carb-only, graham cracker rut.
Kids can surprise you. M started loving pickled things during her most picky time (which in most kids is right around 18-24 months). I have a habit of not offering M things I don't like, which I've gotten better at. I wouldn't eat a pickled onion, but she got a hold of one at Holiday party in '07 and there was no turning back!
