this is what I'd like to see for "nutrition education" for kids...

This trailer for Kungfu Panda cracks me up, and I think is a great example of how we can show kids about how great food is.(Unlike most attempts at nutrition and health ed for kids which is a bunch of guilting, shoulds, and makes eating onerous and dutiful instead of delicious and joyful. And, as Ellyn Satter says, "When the joy goes out of eating, nutrition suffers.")Materials that deal with food for small kids should (IMHO)• stress flavor and enjoyment• stress balance and variety• be entertaining• avoid shoulds, lectures and talk about "health"• be age-appropriate• not pressure or guilt, in other words, stick with the Division of Responsibility. This trailer talks about "healthy" foods in a fun way that makes it cool and enticing. I also love that Jack Black is a big guy, but is so incredibly graceful and athletic. What do you think?
