Yup.Obesity rates declined in Australian preschoolers from 1999-2007... This while the hysteria over epidemic of childhood obesity headlines continued. NHANES, and other US studies show a similar stability and decline in childhood obesity rates (0.1%) over the last few years, but still a decline. Somehow the data doesn't jive with the crushing epidemic of childhood obesity headlines, but then, fear-mongering sells. Are there plenty of kids who weigh more than is healthy for them? Sure. Is it a concern? Sure. But, don't always believe everything you read.
