After a recent post titled: “Just don’t bring it into the house”: Stupid things experts say #5, the comments were amazing, and reminded me that the choices we make feeding our children have repercussions beyond today’s food battles. Many of my clients and blog readers have major struggles with food, or are in recovery or recovered from an eating disorder. For many, feeding their own children is a mixed bag. Pretty much every one of these moms has talked about her...

As I watch M eschew (not chew) peanut butter, eggs, nuts, and pizza, I feel a small hint of the impatience families feel when their children like a limited variety of foods. I should have paid attention to my complete lack of appetite with the episodes. That’s serious for me! Anyway, I asked a question to the FB folks, which was, “what is your favorite feeding gadget or item that was a must-have?” From the Oralflo cup for pills to the segmented toddler plate, the one that...

moms looking for support

I would love to network and look for support for my family while we work towards this shift in feeding and create a healthier and happier home. Ideally, someone local and someone who may have been through similar things. We have a a 2year old that was born 2 months premature. We have done everything wrong listening to the guidance and ‘concern’ from pediatricians, NICU discharge staff, dieticians, speech therapists, GIs, and the like. After 2 years of pressure and misery, we...
