friday fun: things I like

Posted by on Feb 18, 2011 in Blog Posts | 3 comments

Sometimes I get a little down reviewing school lunch policies or reading the latest standard picky eating article or weight loss study on kids… So, here’s a few fun things I like for the weekend: At a recent get-together, I popped Ikea tea-lights into some handed-down crystal glasses that feel too fussy to drink out of, but looked really pretty as candle-holders. They felt safer to me somehow too to have the flame enclosed and so pretty! Look, my first home decorating...

100 calorie packs and tuned-in eating

Posted by on Feb 9, 2011 in Blog Posts | 6 comments

A great post about 100 calorie packs and how people who are dieting or restrained actually ate MORE. Check out this blog! It gets to the point of eating base on INTERNAL cues of hunger and fullness. Posted by on Aug 17, 2010 in Blog Posts | 6 comments

So I was walking on my treadmill yesterday flipping through morning TV (we are going to get a DVR box as I can’t stand live TV, especially in the mornings…) So the Huckabee Show was on Fox. He had three “experts:” Meme Roth, Miss Plus-sized Elite and Kathy Ireland. Same old same old from the guests (Meme-“but obesity is the devil!!!”/Miss Plus-sized “accept and love yourself…”) but Huckabee came out with a few choice lines given his...

worldwide readers-what was for breakfast today?

Posted by on Apr 29, 2010 in Blog Posts | 36 comments

I finally figured out how to install Google Analytics and LOVE that I have readers from 27 countries! I get a little thrill from seeing the map in various shades of green, and I started to wonder. What did you all have for breakfast this morning? I had a hankering for salt so I made fried eggs, hash browns, whole wheat toast, sliced canteloupe and veggie sausage for the family on my new griddle pictured here with another breakfast. If you feel comfortable, tell me where you are from and what...
